Yay, this is when we arrived in York, PA on Christmas Eve, just in time to say goodnight to little Bry before he bedded down to wait for Santa. That night, we ate a nice dinner after which my dad announced, "Well, life is going to drastically change for me in about 4 days". We all sat there wondering if he was gonna tell us he was sick or changing jobs or WHAT. But he clarified that he'd been called to be the new bishop, and that he was being set apart that Sunday. So that was a shock to us all, but it was really nice to share the moment all together, and then be there to see him be sustained and set apart on our one Sunday at church together. I'm proud of my Daddio!
This is us in the "music room" that night, singing through the Christmas program that my mom put together for the ward and hearing my dad read Luke 2. It was a nice way to invite the Christmas spirit in!
Christmas morning breakfast! My favorite breakfast of the year, complete with breakfast casserole (bread, sausage, eggs, cheese, mushrooms...mmmm) I think my family might have ditched this tradition a time or two had I not been so adament about it every year. It's so delicious and Christmas wouldn't be the same without it! We also have yummy homemade cinnamon rolls to go with it. Thanks, Mom, you're a gem! We took a few hours to open all the presents everyone got...we always like to take our time and drag it out until the afternoon. :) Then after a little nap, we went to see the movie "Marley and Me" at the theater. It hit WAY close to home, since my family just had to put our yellow lab, Phoebe, to sleep on December 1- my birthday! Her story was very close to the movie....we miss her a lot! It was such a cute movie, but I bawled, along with the rest of the fam, and Jake was a sweetheart trying to comfort me throughout it.
Jake and I snapped some shots after church the Sunday after Christmas...we realized we were matching. :)
And while at home, my sisters, Brittney and Bree, threw me a baby shower! It was fun to see all the friends I never get to see out there, and everyone was so nice to come and support.
These are my friends the Shoemakers...Jolene and Brooke are like sisters to me, growing up with them since we moved there, and Pam was like a second mom! And here's Bree and I with one of my best friends, Pippi (Liese), who was my freshman year roommate at BYU and drove up to the shower from Virginia!
Me and one of my other best friends, Sommer! What a dear. We went to highschool together and were inseparable until we went off to different BYU's! She came up from Maryland and it was so fun to see her again, along with her mom and sister, Ashley, who were also like family.
And here's a bunch of Toone family photos that we decided to take on Monday. Nothin fancy, just a tripod and digital camera, but they're nice to have of all of us! The first one is Brittney and I with our baby bumps! She's 6 weeks behind me and barely showing, but it's so fun that we'll both have baby girls in the next couple months!
Haha can you believe my brother bought all these Russian hats on his mission and brought them all home? Geezo, I didn't buy much more than an ornament as a souvenir on my mission! I like this picture though, it's a fun one.
