A Froggy Cake and Pajama Pet Party for Lexi

 
When little Lexi Lou turned 5, she had a very specific request for her birthday cake. This year, she wanted a froggy cake with 2 frogs sitting on a log in a pond, with a heart between them, and flies on a lily pad. :) Oh, and a dog peeking out from the reeds. So, that's what she got! This cake was just fun and low key, and I had fun playing with the marshmallow fondant, as always. I looked up fondant frogs on pinterest, and found this cute idea. Easy and simple!

Little pond creatures

Lex had a birthday party with friends on the Saturday before her birthday. She had wanted to watch Secret Life of Pets at her party, but it hadn't come out on DVD yet. SO we got Open Season 2, told everyone to wear their pajamas, and had a pet themed party with popcorn and snacks and games. The cute party-goers:

Present time. Lex got lots of fun stuff!

Jake manned the popcorn machine :) We had "dog food" and "dog biscuits".

The traditional balloons hanging from the upstairs bannister. :) The kids were lined up to play Pin the Bone on Luna!

I drew the outline, and Lex did the rest!

We did a pinata outside, which the kids always enjoy.

And then it was cake time!
