Holy. Cow. How does one (little) person make such a mess in less than 10 minutes. I do not know. But Cami manages to make QUITE the messes when she tries to eat by herself, which is ALL the time now. She used to be content with Dad feeding her oatmeal every morning, and me feeding her yogurt at lunch, etc. But her independance started bursting at the seams until one day when she could take it no longer. Good for you, Cami Lamb, that's the way to learn. But oh what a messy process learning can be. And oh how cute a face can look when smeared with spaghetti sauce.

Why is it that the hands can NEVER stay out of the hair? It's inevitable. She barely touches her hair all day, but as soon as she's in the chair with food on her hands, they're tangled in her blonde curls in no time.

And why is it that children feel the need to throw food on the floor? Do they see Mommy or Daddy throwing peas and macaroni on the floor? No. But it's also inevitable. Cami can not go a meal without "accidentally" dropping food particles over the edge of her tray. More often than not, though, she finds it funny when we're kneeling down on the floor under her to pick up her latest mess and proceeds to throw more food over the edge like a game. Huh, Cam....don't look so innocent.

This often happens after a few attempts and fails at getting food on the fork. Much easier. Thank goodness for the Baby Bjorn bib that catches (almost) everything and is used at every mealtime!

What would we do without yogurt. Cam doesn't drink milk, for whatever reason. She doesn't like the taste. She'll drink chocolate milk, sometimes. But she LOVES water. *whew* So to get her daily dairy, she eats yogurt like nobody's business. And milk in her oatmeal. Sometimes cheese, but rarely. Who IS this kid? Who'd have thought that I, a lover of food who will eat just about anything, would have such a picky eater. We're hoping it's a phase.

Yes, that's Activia. Any kind of yogurt, I tell you. What a cutie pie.

Getting so big, eating all by herself! Mealtimes are fun...always a messy adventure. I'm sure I'll miss the days of tricky business eating when she's all grown up and using a napkin. Until then, I'll keep taking pictures of her cute yogurt mustaches and cleaning food off the wall. With love. :)

Oh those pictures are classic. How cute is she. She really looks all toddler and no baby in those pictures!
