Private island Coco Cay welcomed us on Thursday morning, bright and early. We ate a good breakfast, then boarded a boat that took us to the Royal Caribbean designated island. The turquoise water was gorgeous!
We didn't have any plans for when we got to the island. All our table mates had paid to go parasailing and snorkeling, but we kind of just wanted to relax on the beach. It was a little cloudy when we got there, but still nice and warm.
Once again, I loved the colorful vibrant buildings.
And the coconuts in the palm trees made me happy!

I just liked the color of this kayak. But Jake looked pretty cute, too.
Ahhhh. Rows of beach chairs and no one around!
That's what I'm talkin bout.
Big fluffy clouds were on their way out.
We sat and relaxed for awhile, and then we walked out into the water. There were absolutely no waves. The water was like a lake. Warm, clear, still, and very very shallow. The sand bars went out for miles it seemed. We walked and walked, looking for shells, crabs, starfish, and little fish.
We also spotted this guy in the bushes. Can you see him in the middle?
Oh look, he came out to play!
Nerdy me, as we left that beach to go find some lunch at the big island barbeque.
We should've stopped and lounged in these hammocks for real! Who gets to lay in a hammock anymore these days?
There were different activities on the island, like a big giant blow up water slide, an adventure blow up obstacle course thing, kayaking, snorkeling, etc. I just wanted to enjoy the beach! The lunch was yummy barbequed ribs and chicken. This was one of those other times when we were like ohhh man, the girls would be lovin this!
The rainbow umbrellas were lovely and cheerful.
After lunch, we found a new beach to relax on under some palm trees, overlooking the snorkelers.
Jake took some goggles and went swimming to look for fish. He likes being up close and personal with sea creatures more than I do. He saw a couple of cool things at least.
I was fine with watching the seagulls.
He's out there somewhere!
Oh wait, did I mention that I love palm trees? And taking pictures of them?
We finished up our time on the island by visiting the straw market, where local vendors sell all kinds of homemade Bahamian souvenirs.
It reminded me of Cancun. And flea markets. Pretty much all the same stuff as we saw in Nassau, so we didn't buy anything. We did buy a little ornament and some shells in Nassau. :)
Riding in the boat back to the ship, the water once again was awesome.
Goodbye Coco Cay! Hello ship.
You can see the rock climbing wall on the back of the ship here. That was a pretty cool addition to the cruise.
