Sure, the first picture of the Easter post is of a giant bunny. But that wasn't our whole focus this Easter- yay! Thanks to my wonderful sister-in-law Allison, and her brilliant idea to celebrate Easter week. We were able to focus more on Jesus and less on the bunny. We had both. Starting with Discovery Gateway and the Easter Bunny visit.
The girls wore their Easter dresses to church the week before Easter, since it fell on General Conference Sunday this year.

We began Easter Week that night, by celebrating Palm Sunday. We read in the scriptures and watched a video about it. The girls cut out palm leaves and took turns being Jesus or being the donkey. :)

Then on Monday night, we learned about the temple that Jesus cleansed when everyone was selling things in it and treating it poorly. The girls built a Lego Temple, with an Angel Moroni on top!
They also acted out stuffed animals selling things, and overturning the "table".
Aaaaand...after that, our Easter Week got a little lax and not very well documented. But I'm definitely doing it again next year, and better next time!

As a lovely springtime/Easter time activity, we visited Gardner Village and the woodland fairies. Check out these gigantic gorgeous flowers!

Mom sent an Easter package in the mail, complete with these awesome bunny glasses. :)
On Thursday night (that's why we didn't have our Passover feast), we had the annual Yospe Easter Egg Hunt! It was at Grandma and Grandpa's house, where they had hidden hundreds and hundreds of colorful eggs. Ready, set, go! Lexi got the easy ones. :)
It was freezing! Hence the winter coats. But that didn't deter anyone from having fun!
They get to find like 35 eggs each, plus a bunch of other goodies like fruit snacks, juice, bubbles, balls, etc. The kids love it. And now time for the obligatory grandkid post-hunt picture!

On Friday night, we got to have a Yospe girls night out! It was awesome. Except for Cami breaking her arm just hours before. That will come in another post. So we met in Bountiful at Plates and Palates, and I actually ordered and ate a SALAD! Be proud...be very proud of me. It was deeelicious. It had shrimp on a bed of spinach, with roasted sweet potatoes, sliced grapefruit, and pistachios with a lemon dressing. Mmm. I also got chicken tortilla soup which was delicious. I always remember food, mind you. We had an awesome time chatting, and I was reminded how blessed I am to have such an awesome family, in addition to my original family! Love these ladies. After dinner, half of us went to the theater and saw a movie about running called MacFarland. It was good, and I can't wait to have another girls night!
On Saturday, we got to enjoy General Conference! LOVE this time. I love being able to listen to the prophet and his apostles, inspired leaders of the church, and their insight and wisdom. I feel the spirit so strongly, even with rowdy kids in the room. I love taking notes, sustaining the Prophet, hearing the beautiful Mormon Tabernacle choir, and knowing that thousands all around the world are watching together.
The girls get excited to get out the "General Conference Activity Bag" and do all the little activities.
What better activity to do in between sessions than dye easter eggs?
Saturday night means Priesthood session for boys, and play time for girls! We did our traditional trip to Deseret Book to be one of the first 100 in line to get a free gift, and then we ate frozen yogurt at Yogurtland. Delish!
And FINALLY, it was actually Easter! Oh yeah, remember how this is an Easter post?? The girls woke up to Easter baskets filled with some candy and gifts.
And then they were on the go, searching for Easter eggs! The Easter Bunny hid them all around, and they were more than excited to find them!

I can't remember what we had for breakfast, but it was something gluten free yummy. Then it was time for another day of General Conference- yay!
We enjoyed dinner after the last session.

And went outside to enjoy the beautiful spring weather and to take one last Easter picture. This is my favorite spot in our front yard in the spring. Blossoms and tulips! You can see Lexi picking one.
