We Bought a House!!!

We're way excited about the latest happening in our life...we bought a house this week! It was like a whirlwind, everything happened so fast. We had been looking at houses on the market for a few months, just out of curiosity. We like our little one bedroom condo and the perks that come with it like super cheap rent and free weight room, etc. So we weren't in a huge hurry to get out.

But then we decided to get a realtor because that was a step we needed to take in order to start looking for real...after all, it helps to be putting your money into something worthwhile that you own instead of throwing it away in rent. So we decided it was time, picked a family friend realtor, and went out this past Monday to look at houses. He had sent us a long list of possible houses, and we picked our top ones we were interested in. The 6 houses we looked at on Monday started out really nasty, but gradually got more promising. The last house we looked at was the one pictured above....a nice, well-kept 2 story house in a culdesac in West Jordan right near the Jordan River Temple. We were kind of baffled at the price for the value, and why it was down in our price range! But none of us could find anything wrong with it, and it stuck in our minds that night, and the next night when we looked in Bountiful/Woods Cross at a few houses. We decided we needed to make an offer on the West Jordan house, cuz it would go fast. So on Wednesday, we went back to it, made an offer, and it was countered by the owner. So we upped our offer the next day, since it was still worth that price, and we got it! All very fast and surprising, but very exciting!! Jake and I will be moving out in about 2 weeks, probably on the 4th of July, so it's going to come super fast. Here are some pictures of some of the inside of the house...Here's the kitchen on the main floor to the left when you walk in the front door, and below is the master bedroom on the 2nd floor...(that's all there is up there, with the master bath...it's kinda like a "suite") There's another bedroom down the hall from the kitchen with a bathroom.
And the bay window is in the living room on the main floor facing the backyard...I think that's my favorite part of the house. And this other bedroom is the finished part of the basement...that snazzy window faces the unfinished part that will someday be a bedroom, family room, and another bathroom. So there you have it! It's a very unique and different house, but we both felt really good about it and it'll be a great investment as of the 30th!
