A Day at the Discovery Gateway Museum

Sportin her snazzy new purple outfit, Cami got to go to the Discovery Gateway with her cousin Mae. Don't you love that button hat and purple heart boots? Children's Place has some cute clothes! Anyways, this was Cami's first time at the museum, and even though she was a bit under the weather (I thought she was better, but her cheeks were flushed and she wasn't quite her spunky self and then she threw up the next day. Oops! Hope she didn't get anyone there sick).

It's such a cute place, with tons of hands on actvities and stations for little kids. She went into the pretend house first, and vacuumed and played in the kitchen.
On to the grocery store, where she donned a cute apron and collected foods to put in her basket.
She got to push a mini shopping cart, too!
After shopping, she hopped in the car and drove a little ways...
And ended up on the farm where she decided to go horseback riding! Big smiles.
After that, she spent a long time in the tots area, for 1-3 year olds, and even joined the babies for a little rest. Here's my cute nephew Henry enjoying the toys.
Cami loved this bird's house, where she would climb up the step ladder and go down a little mini slide. She did it over and over and over again.
On to the water station! She loved playing with these plastic balls in the water.
Mae and Cam throwing balls into the water
They also liked to drink the water. Ewww. I tried to talk Cam into keeping her hands out of her mouth, with little success. She got a hang of how the tubes worked, though, and knew if she put a ball in one spot, it would come out in another spot. I liked seeing her little mind working.
I think her favorite spot was the tubes with air blowing in them, and when you open the little door it would shoot out and blow her in the face. When you put the plastic ball in, it would suck up into the tube and dump out into a big bin.

And what kid doesn't enjoy a big zylophone?

Thanks, Mae, for letting Cami come with you! She had such a blast. Even today, almost 3 weeks later, she still talks about the museum. She says "Whooosh whooosh... water...balls...apple, banana, basket, lay down with baby....up up up, weeeeee!"
