Two New Things: A Trike and a Fear

 Here it is, Cami's first "bike". For months, I was debating what kind of trike or bike or ride on toy to get Cami for this summer. I felt bad that she didn't have anything to ride on, except a little baby toy, while all the other kids in the neighborhood are crusing around on their cool bikes. What does a 2 year old ride, anyways? Not willing to fork out 50 bucks for a new fancy trike or big wheels, I kept an eye on KSL classifieds for months, and finally found this little Barbie trike for $10. Not bad! Cami was excited, and even though she can't reach the pedals yet, she scoots around with her feet on the ground.

 Good job, Cam! It'll be more fun when you can actually ride it, I promise!

 And another new development.....the fact that Cami is DEATHLY afraid of mascots!! Anything in a big costume sets her into a panicked frenzy, clinging to me or Jake for dear life. We went to Jake's work party at a Bee's baseball game, and she acted like the Bee was the scariest thing she'd ever seen. The Jazz Bear was there too, and as soon as she saw him, she jumped onto Jake's lap during dinner and wouldn't let go.

 This was at the zoo...a run in with "Red Robin". Cami would not have anything to do with it.

Since then, we've seen the Chick-fil-A cow while we were eating at the restaurant, and Cami jumped out of her high chair and clung until he was gone. And last night at the Scera Shell, the big dog mascot clear across the theater sent her clinging to Dad. Don't ask me why! It's a mystery. Set her in a dark room or in front of snakes and spiders, and she's just fine.....but those mascots better stay away!
