We love having a beautiful backyard to go swimming in. We didn't do it nearly enough this summer, but enjoyed some good afternoons out there. I love this picture of the girls basking in the sun together.
SPLASH!
Lexi had fun riding in Owen's car when we would go over and visit.
And Cami learned how to ride a scooter like a pro.
We visited a really cool new park that's WAY out west, at the edge of civilization in West Jordan. There's a great playground and splash pad. Here's Cami with Lexi's preschool friend, Jackson, and an unknown little girl.
Cami and Lexi are playground LOVERS. They would live on a playground if they could. This is the Fish Park near our house.
Lexi's ponytail! :)
I love these photos, showing the pure innocence and and bliss of childhood.
Playing with our neighbor, Elijah, who saw us swimming outside from his window and was excited to come and join.
Awww look at that face. Morning face, crazy hair, teeny teeth, chocolate brown eyes, pink blankie...my Cami.
We love Menchies Frozen Yogurt- the self serve kind where you can put your own toppings on. I enjoy it because there are always 2 gluten free dairy free sorbet options, and yummy fruit and "poppers" or boba and mocchi to top with. Mmmm our family's favorite dessert spot.
Our stake did a 5K fun run, and Cami rode her bike alongside me while I pushed Lexi in the stroller. Jake ran and met us at the breakfast. I love Cami in this picture- persistance!
This was an after-church shot of me in my new dress that I found at the Daybreak yard sales.
Cami found a mushroom.
With their church take-alongs.
This is their favorite part of going to the dentist- reading in the little children's alcove!
I got to reunite with good friends from my growing up years in California. Jessica Macias and Laurin Rice- now both married with kiddos. Cute girls!
One day, Lexi was SO proud of herself for putting her swimsuit on all by herself.
On Flag Day, I dressed the girls up patriotically, and we hit downtown at the Gateway for the KSL family book festival and chalk art festival. Such a fun tradition now! Cami rocked her hair and facepaint.
Father's Day with Daddy, everyone looking so cute.
I love that we get to have family dinners at the Yospe's every other Sunday. It is such a good time for all the cousins to get to play together, and the adults to visit and bond over good food. Clark and Emma are so nice to let us all crash their house every other week- we're gettin to be a big group!
Playing on the trailer, hitting a ball with Grandma.
Cute Cami and Ari, enjoying a trip to Ikea together.
I like to make green smoothies (spinach, frozen fruit, coconut water) and turn the leftovers into popsicles for the girls. They think it's a real treat! Perfect on hot, summer days too.
We enjoyed many a Scera Shell shows and concerts this summer. This one was Cinderella, and the girls were mesmerized the whole time.Wheeler Farm fun
With my friends Kathie and Laurie and other moms and their kiddos. Fun playgroup!
Cutie red-cheeked Lexi
They got their faces painted (not very well, haha) at a bike safety fair at our pediatrician's office down the street. We walked there and Cami rode her bike, and it was a super hot day. But they had fun.
Haha Lexi trying out a balance bike on the bike safety course. Rockin the hairnet/helmet!
Making ice cream at Farm Country dairy days
We did some family yoga at the library, and this was called the waterfall pose. :)
Good family time
Our friends at the apartments invited us to come swimming with them a few times this summer. The girls loved being in a real, big pool! I had fun, too, and Cami learned the beginnings of how to swim.
A little Pizza Pie Cafe every now and then is always fun. Especially sharing dessert pizza!
More pool time
Lexi concentrating really hard to show that she's 2.
Lexi loves her green smoothies!
Playing at the Gateway Fountains one day
We went to the West Jordan Rodeo, and Cami looked like the most adorable little cowgirl.
Lexi too. :)
Mae and her family joined us
Lexi looks like Mickey Mouse
Family shot! Jake, lookin good as a Cowboy.
The girls looked so cute after church one day, posing on the stairs.
What's summer without bubbles and sidewalk chalk. And a cute helmet.Sister picture for the ages!
Chick-fil-a Dress Like a Cow Day is always one of our favorites! Free meals for all! Lexi. :)
And for Father's Day, Cami gave Daddy an invitation for a campout date! She picked the Friday night, and they roasted marshmallows, ate s'mores, and slept in a tent in our backyard.
Love!
Here's the invitation. What a good Dad!
And what a picturesque morning to wake up in the backyard! I took this out the window.
We spent our Stake Lagoon Day walking around Lagoon with Jake's parents and Esther and Walter. The girls rode a few rides and loved it!
Lexi loved driving all by herself!
Grandma and Grandpa Yospe
Whale fun! Lexi had the hugest smile on her face the whole time.
Splash pad fun at the end of the night. They got SOAKed!
And we went on a playdate hike with Laurie Gilbert (our back door neighbors) and her 4 kids. It was a gorgeous day and such a fun little hike around the lake! Ella, who just turned 10, has always been so sweet. She used to draw pictures for Cami and bring them over when Cami was a baby. Now she writes poems for me, saying how strong and awesome I am. :) What a cutie.
Little Lexi Lou, feeling like she can conquer the world in her "running shoes".
Cami being photobombed by Isaiah. They're cute buds. And how gorgeous is the background??
They wanted to climb up and explore every rock and boulder. Such a good adventure!
And when Cami's shoes came untied, Isaiah stooped right down and tied them for her. So sweet! He's 6...maybe they can get married. :)
Lexi seriously has no fear! She climbs anything and is so brave and daring. She always wants to follow Cami everywhere, and even leads the way when Cami gets afraid.
Cami also got her first swimming lessons this summer. She was so excited! We signed her up at a nice older couple's house that my friend Sara referred us to. They do lessons in their backyard pool, with a few kids at a time. Cami's main thing she needed to work on was straightening her legs and staying on top of the water when kicking.
She had lots of fun. On her last swim lesson day, she got to wear this cool swim cap. They had a barbeque for all the kids and their families after her last lesson.
And after that, Cami was much more confident swimming in the apartment pool with our friends. Here's Lexi in her cute floatie vest.
And Cami diving for sharks and fish with Jackson and his mommy. Go Cam!
She was proud to have completed her first swim lessons, and is already excited to do more.
