And then the artists paint pots. We found this same awesome tree that we took a picture with the last time we were here with my parents. I LOVE this picture of everyone- especially Lexi!
Hot pots!
At Old Faithful, we stopped and had a picnic lunch out of the rain while we waited for Old Faithful to erupt. Here the girls were having a stand off.
In the great valley, after the lake, we hit the jackpot of bison! There were so many, as far as the eye could see!
We stood in the rain and listened to them grunting and moaning and talking....to me, it sounded like a bunch of belching. They're pretty crazy animals. This one was right by our car.
Rainy and cold, but worth it!
Then we went to inspiration point to see the upper falls.
After a nice long day in Yellowstone, we went home that night tuckered out. Jordan and Kate left the next day to head home, so we spent our last day in West Yellowstone. We ate lunch at a restaurant called The Slippery Otter, because I read online that it had good gluten free options. Lexi was happy at first, waiting for her food.
And then she got moody, and made this most adorable face.
And cute smiley Cami
The food was pretty good, if not a bit too expensive. I got a gluten free pizza. After lunch, we decided to check out the library. They had this cute little children's area with a real tree house.
And then we splurged and paid to go to the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center. We'd never been before, but thought it'd be fun to check out.
They have a little museum of displays, and then outside there are habitats for real live wolves and bears and bald eagles.
The wolves were cool. The workers hid pieces of meat around the habitat and then let the wolves run around and find them. They also rubbed around in scented oils placed around everywhere.
The bears were fun to watch. They were big and playful, and swam around in the water.
And one last family photo op with the giant teddy bear in the gift shop. What a great ending to a wonderful vacation!

Wow- where were all the bison last year?? Pretty cool! You guys did some different things that I want to do now! The Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Ctr. looks fun- Ruth Ann said they always go there, but we didn't spring for it. Looked worth it though. And the West Yellowstone Library sure beats the Island Park Library trailer! Love Lexi's black and white pouty face (her eyes!) and the girls in the cave. Love them!! And cute family pictures of all of you! xox
