Snowbird and Zermatt Getaways

On General Conference weekend, we got invited to go with Ike and his family to Snowbird Resort for the day. He had all day passes for us to use....who would say no to that! The only downside was that we had to miss the afternoon Saturday session of Conference, which I was sad about. But good thing we have amazing technology that allows us to watch it the next day! Luckily, it was a gorgeous fall day, and made for a beautiful drive. Although we did make a mistake and go up the wrong canyon! We drove all the way up Big Cottonwood Canyon and couldn't find Snowbird at the top. Little did we know it was in Little Cottonwood Canyon! Dang! So we drove all the way down and back up the other one, but got to see lots of pretty colors.

And it was worth it! Just look at this picture of pure bliss!

It got pretty cold up there later in the evening! But this girl had fun nonetheless. And I love her blonde curls peeking out.

The all day passes allowed us to ride all the cool rides, including the Mountain Coaster! The girls loved it. 

And the alpine slide was lots of fun too! I laughed as Lexi went "Woooooo hoooo!" the whole way down.

I wasn't brave enough to do the mountain flyer, since it goes up backwards really fast. Blugh. My stomach doesn't handle things very well anymore. But Jake and Cami loved it.

She also did the big bungee trampoline. She wasn't heavy enough to bounce much! But the worker helped her do a couple flips.

We rode the tram to the top of the mountain at the end of the day. It was beautiful!

As soon as we got to the top, the worker came into the tram and told us that there were two moose right outside, and that we needed to be quiet and keep our distance so as not to disturb them. It was awesome seeing them so up close!

It was also freeeezing and super windy up there, so we rode right back down and then headed to the hotel for the night. Ike also had hotel stays for us! The girls were so excited to go swimming. 

They went swimming with their Dads and cousins while Jana and I watched outside in the freezing cold in our coats! Then their family went home, and we stayed overnight. It's always exciting to sleep in a hotel room! And my favorite part is taking a nice hot bath. :) We went home the next morning in time to watch Sunday morning conference. It was lovely.

Then, just two weekends later, we took another staycation! This time, to the Zermatt Resort in Midway. One of our favorite places! Jake had a free stay from work for us to use, and the girls were so excited to come with us this time! We stopped in Park City and shopped at the Tanger Outlets on the way, and then ate a yummy dinner at Zupa's. We got to the Zermatt at night. Once again, the excitement was in the air as we stepped into our hotel room for the first time. Cami sat right down and started doodling. :)

The next morning, we woke up and went straight to the indoor pool and had a fun time swimming! Then, after getting ready, we headed outside to walk the grounds. I was gorgeous! Look at those colors.

We walked and ate apples, and then fed them to the goats.

And played mini golf. Cami loves this sport! Lexi, not so much. :) She sets her club down and forgets it at every hole. She likes chasing the balls and picking them up for us after we hit them. :)

Then we left and went to the Homestead, where they had a scarecrow display. This one was cool and natural.

And this one? Well, there's President Obama. haha.

We climbed the steps to the top of the crater, to look at the amazing view.

And then we ate lunch at Dairy Keen in Heber. Yay for gluten free options! Lexi loves this cute little train.

After that, we headed back home and took a little break. THEN, we ventured back out and went to Cornbelly's at Thanksgiving Point! Quite the busy weekend! It was our first time at Cornbelly's, and although it was quite expensive even with coupons, it was lots of fun.

It had fun slides that we all went down, corn pools, hay bales to climb on, tractor barrel rides, corn maze, bounce houses, pig races, etc.

We decided to conquer the easy maze, which was supposed to take about 20 minutes, but we GOT LOST in the middle and somehow got into the big maze, and ended up being in there over an hour.

This is how I felt about that.

Lexi too. We finally found a worker walking around the maze, and asked him to escort us out. haha. It was hot and boring! The Wizard of Oz maze was not our friend that day. But it looks cool.

And who doesn't love a big giant bouncy bubble trampoline? Lexi is in the middle left, and looks like she's about to faceplant it. :)

There was even a princess land, with this carriage that Cami Lamb was excited about.

We didn't even get to do everything there- we ran out of time! It was a fun fall family activity, for sure. I'm so glad we live in a beautiful place with access to so many things! Utah, you don't disappoint. :)
